Applying for the Visa
To be eligible for this visa, you must meet specific requirements. Applicants must be under 45 years of age and possess qualifications aligned with occupations listed on Australia's approved migration list, which is subject to periodic government updates (refer to the Skilled Occupations List from DIBP). Currently, eligible occupations include managers, administrators, engineers, teachers, tradespersons, and various medical sector roles.
Before initiating the visa application, candidates must obtain a positive skills assessment from the designated Australian skills assessing authority. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate recent work experience in their nominated field or another field listed on the skilled occupation list. Meeting threshold English proficiency and satisfying health, character, and public interest requirements are also mandatory.
Successful visa issuance is contingent upon passing the Points Test, which awards points based on qualifications, age, English proficiency, work experience, and the skills of the applicant's spouse. Additional points are granted to applicants with family ties in Australia, Australian qualifications, or skills in high demand.
